Install Water Softener is a national site. It does not install anything itself. It explains the work, then passes your request to an independent local pro who works where you live. Here is what happens, step by step, and what happens to your details.

Install Water Softener is an independent referral service, not an installer or plumber. When you send the form, your details go to an independent local water treatment pro who can contact you and prepare a quote.
Step by step
You send the short form
The form asks for your name, a phone number, the job and your ZIP code. The job is one of: a new softener install, replacing an old softener, a softener plus a filter, a repair or service, or not sure yet. The contact page has a longer form if you want to add an email address and a note about your home or your water.
Your request is passed to a local pro
Your request is received by this site’s operator, who passes it to an independent water treatment pro or plumber who works in your area. Your ZIP code is how we know which. We do not send your request out to a list of companies.
The pro can contact you
The pro can contact you by phone, ask about your water and your home, and arrange to look at the job if it needs a visit. Have your hardness figure, or your utility’s name, to hand; the install checklist on the homepage lists what helps.
The pro prepares a quote, and you decide
Any quote comes from the pro, not from this site. You decide whether to go ahead. Sending the form commits you to nothing, and you are free to get other quotes and compare.

What this site does and does not do
| This site | The independent pro |
|---|---|
| Explains softener installs, repairs and upkeep | Looks at your water and your home |
| Receives your request | Can contact you about the job |
| Passes it to a pro who works in your area | Prepares a quote |
| Charges you nothing | Does any work you agree to, on their own terms |
This site does not sell, install, repair or service softeners. It does not hold a license or set prices, and it makes no promise about what any pro will quote or when. The work, the quote and anything that follows from them are between you and the pro.
Check the pro yourself
Rules for softener work differ by state and city. In Texas, anyone who installs or services water treatment equipment under contract needs a state Water Treatment Specialist license unless they are a licensed plumber. Many cities require a plumbing permit for a new softener. Ask the pro about the license and permit where you live, ask for the quote in writing, and check the license with the body that issues it.
Your details
What you send is stored on this website and emailed to its operator, who passes it to the pro. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is collected and how to ask for it to be removed.
Ready to send your ZIP code and the job?
Why a referral, not a directory
Directories and review sites give you a long list and leave the calling to you. Brand locators show only that brand’s dealers. This site works the other way round: you describe the job once, and your request goes to one independent pro who works in your area. You still choose. If the quote does not suit you, you can turn it down, ask questions, or get other quotes and compare them line by line. The guides on this site are there so you can judge any quote, from anyone, with the right questions.
Before you send it
You get more out of the first conversation if you know your job. Read the page that fits: installation by a plumber, whole house systems, repair, maintenance and service, replacement or well water. If you are still deciding whether you need a softener at all, start with the signs of hard water.
Questions people ask
Do you cover my area?
The site takes requests from anywhere in the United States. Send your ZIP code and we pass your request to an independent pro who works in your area.
Will I get calls from several companies?
Your request is passed to an independent local pro.
Does it cost anything?
No. Sending the form is free and you never have to hire anyone.
What if I am not sure which job I need?
Choose Not sure yet on the form. Describe what you see, such as spots, scale or a softener that stopped working, and the pro can help you work out what the job is.
